After a whirlwind photo shoot, I've now got my new promotional video done. Phew!
I had really wanted to take new promo pictures up at Fair Havens (my camp) like I did the first edition books. Unfortunately, these books took WAY longer to have published. I received my proofs while still at camp, but I couldn't used those because they have a big "Not for resale" strip across the front of each book. I noticed that the proof books had a white strip around the perimeter, and I didn't like that. Turns out Kindle Direct Publishing didn't either. They took the full 10 days that they now say they will for "low content" books, and then 10 more days for each formatting correction I submitted. That whole process took about a month! It was super frustrating.
I then ordered my author copies, and was very pleased with the results when they arrived last week. Then I got thinking...
On Sunday my husband was going to be traveling up to Fair Havens to help my parents with a big project on their site. I was scheduled to be taking our son to a wedding where he was a ring bearer, about an hour north of the camp. We decided it would be better to only take one vehicle, so I went up early and ended up with about an hour and a half of "free" time. I brought my books, a small easel, and some pretty tablecloths for backdrops. With the help of my parents' golfcart, I whizzed around the camp in record time and set up numerous photo shoots around the camp. 120 photos!
Tonight I compiled them all into a video using Clipchamp, with a background song from Epidemic Sound. In structure, it's quite similar to my original video, but now with fresh new photos, music, and titling. You can see it HERE!
I'm pretty pleased with the photo shoot. I'll be using them in many posts and ads for months to come, but here are the best of all the layouts, in their unvarnished glory. :)
